Blogging........hahahhahahahahaaaaaa.....

What a topic to blog about!

I seriously never thought that I would ever start my own blog, let alone writing daily about my interests n stuff. But it feels nice & somehow I don't know but I am just gliding away on my keypad without much backspacing strokes. Seems like I have a new found interest! But I am enjoying myself. Like those big screen stars who make their presence felt on the small screen when they are past their times, I too am making the presence of my boring talks felt on the net ( though I am still excellent in mouthing PJs!).

It's amazing just how easily you can access people thoughts & views, their lives & other stuff on the net & how easily you can showcase the same. But I guess the main thing about blogs tends to be self-satisfaction rather than an attempt to impress people. Nevertheless I am enjoying writing blogs & hope that I continue to do so without causing much pain or discomfort to you people!

Cooking..mmmmmmmmm

I just love cooking. Especially cooking stuff that tastes nice! hahahhahaaa...seriously though...cooking is a major art. One needs to be really interested to make nice food. That's why I guess Mom's food tastes so nice..because there's so much love & interest behind making it(writing this post just after a superb lunch!).

I love making corn sandwiches, cold coffee(in my own style), french fries(look more like a curry of long potatoes but tastes awesome as it's dipped in cheese!), dosas & many more. I have had the pleasure to befriend people who go googoogaga over my recipes, so enjoy it so much more. Really, cooking & eating with friends with all kinds of jokes flying around during a night-out is one of the best things that can happen to you(especially if the cook is nice!).

PC Games

I know that this is too generic a topic to be blogged about. But still I would like to key in my views about them because I love playing them. Especially racing games like Need For Speed & Formula 1 as well as FIFA. I have a steering wheel assembly with paddle-shifting gears & multi-function fire buttons as well as brake & accelerator pedals to control my adrenalin. I don't know how many hours I must have spent in diffusing my enthusiasm into them but I am sure that if I had studied for all those hours I would have secured 60% aggregate in my engineering course.

Yes after all it's just a game. But after all after-alls it's a game, not before that. No need to put your life into it but definitely you can put your heart into it (one of the rare cases where heart is not equal to life). PC games are excellent stress-busters next only to playing with your small niece/nephew. Just 10 mins of playing an exciting game will drain all your stress out & fill you with new enthusiasm. There's no dearth of exciting PC games on this planet. You don't even need to buy one if you are not that original/branded stuff freak. You can source it from any of your friends. If you are the aggressive type you can go in for racing, military or First-person Shootout games. If you are the mellow type
then maybe strategic or miscellaneous games will suit you. Nowadays there are games like GTA & others which
cater to all kind
of gamers as the only motto in these games is to enjoy yourself without any bindings of rules & strategies. You can do whatever you want to, the game & its characters are yours to play with.

I can't imagine life without PC games because they are such an integral part of my life. Whenever I want any respite from the normal routine, PC games are the first option. There's also the negative aspect of getting involved too much in them or getting addicted to them. But as is always said, it depends on us whether science is a boon or a bane. But PC games can never be a pain!

Investments....did you think stocks?

How many times you have heard your friends talking about planning for the future by investing in the stock market? SIPs, Realty, Commodities, Forex and what not. We immediately get carried away into the future thinking about how all can we increase our bank balance. But ever wondered about how can you increase your mental & physical balance? Ever thought about how can you invest in yourself & reap the benefits for your own self? Did you even think on those lines? These were the questions I had asked myself a few months back & now I am already reaping the benefits of all those important investments that I made. Or maybe I should say the most important investments that I have ever made.

Yeah...you can say that these are also stock investments but these stocks won't ever deplete because they aren't dependent on any market forces or any outside factor. These stocks are personal & integral parts of your life, dependent only on your own investment. That's why the more you invest the more you will reap the benefits.

What stocks am I talking about? Simple but essential ingredients of life like calmness, integrity, humane ethics, physical fitness, confidence, talents, whatever you can think of that add value to your life. And how can you invest in these stocks?

Not so simple because no one may have ever taught you before. I learnt all these thanks to the YES+ course conducted by the Art of Living organization. There are a few other organizations who are committed to instilling human values in today's world. So it depends on us to take that first step & learn these things.

Massive expansion of the mind happens once you invest in yourself. Everything that I wanted to achieve seems so achievable now just because I have started to realise the greatness of the human mind. I have come to terms with the fact that the only difference between thinking & acting is me myself & no one else (maybe the Safari Dicor ad rings a bell here). I could never think of even thinking on these lines before. There's so much to do & give in this life. Time is not less but has to be properly utilised. What's the point in just going for a job 5 days of the week & doing something different only on the weekends? Is that a life or a procedure? There's no harm in having a routine but for God's sake there's no point in just holding on to that routine too. We can have many such routines each day man!

There's only thing that I have realised & that I cherish in implementing each day - if you can't give time to yourself even for half an hour a day, there's absolutely no point slogging 9 hours for someone else.

Responsibilities.....do we take them or not?

It's said that a person grows in life when he takes responsibilities. This sentence was always in my mind since I had heard it the for first time but I never could believe in that unless I took up my first major responsibility in life - that of
quitting my dream of playing cricket for India & owning the responsibility of earning for my family(in a secure settled way through a job). I had an empty hollow feeling the moment I took this hard decision & I couldn't gather my self completely for the next couple of days. I decided to be with myself & not interact much with anyone inside or outside the house just to let the feeling sink down me completely. And when it did I felt elated. I felt that something new had dawned on me & I realised that my life had taken a new dimension & direction, a dimension of responsibility & a direction of growth. For the first time I could bring light to the aforementioned saying in my mind. Since then I have taken many more responsibilities, some small & others sizeably big & the only thing that has kept me ticking on in life without making much of a fuss about these responsibilities is my desire to grow in life according to my own standards & judgement. I have realised that earning a lot of money is just a path or vehicle of success, it's not the success itself. If you are rich but don't understand the value of your money then you haven't gone much distance as regards the growth in life.

And it's not just the growth that matters when thinking of responsibilities. When you become responsible, there are so many other important qualities that flower in you & that are necessary ingredients in anyone's life. You own the responsibility for looking after someone's baby for just an hour & in that you learn committment, adaptability, adjustability, patience, stress management(child management too maybe!). It also really depends on the extent to which you own the responsibility in your heart. That's why I feel that the degree of responsibility doesn't depend on the amount of work or importance attached with that responsibility but the degree to which you feel committed to fulfill that responsibility.

Coming back to whether one should take responsibilities in one's life or not wholly depends on the situation. If you feel

that you want to grow in life by taking responsibilities you may do so. Or else if a situation forces you to take
responsibility(like in my case), then you may do so. But either way you will learn all that is offered to you provided you
fulfill your responsibility. And that's exactly the reason why you can never be bogged down or weakened by your
responsibilities because it's you who decide to take them or otherwise. If anything, you will always grow stronger & wiser that's what I believe. Yes there are other things like you cannot do what you wanted to do because you had to be responsible for something else but remember that life is a game that cannot be played wholly by the heart, sometimes the mind is also right & it's you who has to acknowledge that & that's what I guess is called wisdom. Also I learnt that sorrow & defeats also play an equally important if not more important role in our lives as happiness & victories. So let's intelligently gear up for new responsibilities & cheerfully fulfill them man! Afterall if we decide to smile then not even God can take it away!
